House locations may also be referred to as a mortgage survey, location drawing, or an improvement locations drawing, and is one of the basic types of surveys. This survey illustrates all of the permanent or semi-permanent improvements and how they fit relative to the extents of a piece of land. They may be required for the transfer or refinancing of residential properties, and in some circumstances can be used to submit to the county or appropriate board for basic land improvement such as a proposed shed or patio. The caveat to these however is that the accuracy is generally within a few feet. So when a greater level of precision is needed, one would need a boundary survey. Don’t worry, we do those too!
